If you are looking for anybody to carry out boiler installation, servicing or central heating work then look no further. RPH were competitive, punctual, professional, clean and tidy. Nothing was rushed and they went to great effort to not only complete our swap from a traditional to a combi boiler, but to do it in a way that made the swap look as good as possible too. Although we got several quotes, they left us feeling confident we made the right decision.

Diagnose before quoting
We find the actual fault before pricing anything. A guessed part fitted on spec is how people end up paying twice.
Fixed price, agreed upfront
You get the cost of the repair before we start. No hourly creep and no parts markup revealed at the end.
Honest repair-or-replace advice
If the economics say replace, we show you why. If the boiler has years left, we fix it — even though a replacement would be worth far more to us.
Diagnostic fee comes off a replacement
If the outcome is a new boiler and you have it fitted by us, the cost of the diagnostic visit comes off the installation price.
The faults we see most
Most breakdowns fall into a short list, and most of them are economic to repair. Knowing which one you have tells you a lot about the likely cost before an engineer is even on site.
- Heating works but no hot water — usually a diverter valve
- Pressure keeps dropping — a failed expansion vessel, a leaking PRV, or a genuine leak
- Banging or kettling on start-up — limescale or magnetite in the heat exchanger
- Locks out in cold weather — a frozen condensate pipe, which costs nothing to fix
- No ignition — commonly the fan, the gas valve, or the ignition electrode
When a repair stops being worth it
Our rule of thumb is the one-third test. If the repair costs more than a third of a replacement, and the appliance is past about ten years old, you are spending a meaningful share of a new boiler's price on a machine near the end of its life. We will always give you both numbers so the decision is yours rather than ours.
- Primary heat exchanger failure on an out-of-warranty appliance
- Repeated faults on the same boiler inside twelve months
- Parts no longer supplied by the manufacturer
- Leaks from the main body rather than a joint or valve
What you can check before calling
Some of what we get called out to costs nothing to fix, and we would rather tell you that than charge you to press a button. Worth two minutes before you phone anyone.
- Pressure gauge below 1 bar — the system needs topping up via the filling loop
- Outside temperature below freezing and the boiler locked out — likely a frozen condensate pipe, thawed with warm water
- Thermostat batteries flat, or the programmer reset by a power cut
- Other gas appliances also dead — check the meter rather than the boiler
